Independent Spirit Film Awards' Gift Lounge
Celebrity presenters and performers enjoyed customized gift collections backstage at the 2008 Spirit Awards.
There was a feast for all senses at the Independent Spirit Awards Gift Lounge, produced by On 3 Productions. Celebs had plenty to eat, drink, wear, hear, watch, and use to stay connected.
AMC Theatres® offered the stars an Exclusive Annual Pass, so they could take one guest to see movies for free at more than 360 AMC theatre locations around the world for an entire year. (Matt Dillon said he would only use his AMC card for Blockbusters—he would continue to pay to see the indies.) The booth was all the rage for another reason: AMC was also passing out free Junior Mints and Gummy Stars. Any time is munchie time!
Talent will be among the first to receive the Heineken BeerTender, when it debuts in the United States at the end of March. This elegant countertop appliance offers the first authentic beer experience at home.
And what is an entertainment experience without caffeine? Nespresso® USA Special Edition gave away the Nespresso Le Cube Automatic Espresso Machine, including a Nespresso Aeroccino (milk frother) and two-month Supply of Coffee. How long does a two-month supply of coffee really last anyhow?
C&C California, organic apparel collection for both men and women, were on hand at the far end of the tent, as was Original Penguin. It’s easy being green at the Spirit Awards, especially when there are environmentally healthy choices.
The fashionable had so many other choices, as well. The SOLSTICE Sunglass Boutique Designer Sunglasses (spied there were Marisa Tomei, The Moldy Peaches from the Juno soundtrack, and Dennis Quaid, among others); Carlos Falchi One-of-a-Kind Designer Handbags (Maria Bello, Allison Janney); and Dior Beauty’s signature scents (Felicity Huffman, Ricki Lake); and the LeSportsac Women’s Bags, Men’s Bags and the LeSportsac XL Weekender Bag, which was perfect for toting all the gift lounge goodies.
Among others, Jason and Justine Bateman took home brother/sister Palm® Centro™ smartphones, while Josh Hartnett and Steve Zahn became fast fans of Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin, integrated high fidelity iPod® speaker system.
The biggest hit may have been the Netflix booth. For the second year in a row, Netflix had a claw vending machine, filled with toys from The Simpsons to Shrek 3 with Netflix memberships attached. Kerry Washington, who one a year subscription, was especially thrilled with her Netflix prize. (She had broken up with her boyfriend, and he had gotten their Netflix subscription.) As they say in the movies, she lived happily ever after...
